Volunteer Trail Maintenance Crew or "VTMC" volunteers keep trails ready for hikers and bikers at White Clay Creek State Park. The VTMC does the essential seasonal maintenance with power mowers and power trimmers to maintain cleared trail edges. This is a constant need during the growing season. Your efforts will help keep trails open and welcoming for park visitors. With almost 40 miles of trails, we couldn't do it without volunteers!
When: during the growing season, from March thru November
Who: suitable for individuals who are willing to receive a background check at park expense and to complete training to use power equipment in the park. Suitable for individuals and for small teams up to 5 people.
Wear: long pants, closed toed shoes and layered clothing that can get dirty and is suitable for the weather.
Bring: your work gloves and safety gear. Safety gear such as ear plugs and safety glasses can be provided
Parking: Assigned volunteers park in a lot near their trail location. If you do not have a state park parking pass, you can receive a temporary parking pass for use during your volunteer visits only.
