As a Boat Ramp Volunteer, you’ll play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the boat ramp area remains safe and organized. This position is most crucial during the peak summer season (Memorial Day to Labor Day), though volunteers may assist year-round.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Shuttle boaters between the ramp and overflow parking, ensuring the overflow area is used exclusively for boat trailers.
- Maintain a clean ramp area by picking up trash, discarded fishing lines, and other debris.
- Encourage efficient boat launching to prevent ramp congestion.
- Monitor vehicle traffic to maintain proper flow through designated lanes.
- Ensure boaters comply with NO WAKE restrictions.
- Perform light restroom maintenance, such as wiping down counters and sweeping floors as needed.
- Report significant incidents, including environmentally harmful spills, boating accidents, or structural issues (e.g., loose deck boards).
