Description

The pollinator garden at Brandywine Creek State Park benefits native pollinators, including bees, butterflies, and more, and we need your help to keep it healthy and usable for our visitors!

Once a week, on Fridays at 9:00am, our volunteer gardeners can come together to learn about and care for these gardens. Tools and experience are welcome, but are not required.

On each Green Thumb Gardeners outing, volunteers can expect to:

  • Plant native vegetation
  • Add soil and mulch where needed
  • Remove weeds, invasive species, and dead plants from the gardens
  • Learn about gardening basics, conservation, pollinators, and more.

Green Thumb Gardeners typically meets for an hour every week at the Brandywine Creek State Park Nature Center. Interested volunteers can respond to this opportunity to learn more about about upcoming projects.

Please note: Green Thumb Gardeners will be meeting weekly throughout August and September, with additional meetings possible in October.

Volunteers interested in maintaining the garden but unable to attend on Friday mornings are encouraged to reach out to the Manager of Volunteers to identify alternative scheduling. All hands are welcome!
