Observed each year on the third Monday in January, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is the only federal holiday designated as a National Day of Service. It calls on individuals and communities to honor Dr. King’s legacy by taking action to strengthen and care for the places we share.

This year, MLK Day of Service also marks the opening chapter of Delaware State Parks’ 75th Anniversary celebration. Volunteers across the state will come together to lay the foundation for a year of stewardship, service, and community care through projects that prepare our parks for the seasons ahead.

By participating, you are helping to restore trails, protect natural and historic resources, and support access to Delaware’s state parks for current and future generations. This is the kind of behind-the-scenes work that makes everything else possible.
