Description

Join our team as a Nature Center Volunteer and help create memorable experiences for visitors at Trap Pond State Park! Volunteers play a vital role in supporting educational and recreational programs, including leading activities like Bingo, seining demonstrations, wagon rides, and more.

As a Nature Center Assistant Volunteer, you might also serve as a friendly face in the Nature Center—greeting visitors, answering questions, providing guidance, and ensuring everyone enjoys their time exploring the park. This is a fantastic opportunity for nature enthusiasts who love sharing their passion with the community and want to contribute to conservation education in a hands-on, engaging environment.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with and leading nature programs and activities (inside & outside)
  • Serving as a Nature Center docent, providing educational information to visitors
  • Greeting visitors and offering helpful information about the park and its features
  • Supporting staff in maintaining an inviting and informative Nature Center space

Ideal volunteers are:

  • Friendly, outgoing, and enthusiastic about nature and education
  • Comfortable speaking with visitors of all ages
  • Reliable and willing to learn new skills
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team

*After signing up, the Manager of Volunteers will email you and provide a link to complete a free background check since you will be working with visitors/youth*

If you’re ready to make a positive impact and help visitors connect with the natural world, we’d love to have you join us!
