Volunteer for Charge the Fort!

Help Fort Delaware staff keep things running and on the right track! Join us during our annual 5K as a volunteer to help guide participants and lend a hand!
Volunteers will catch the ferry over to Pea Patch Island and be stationed at various points along the trail to assure runners stay on the correct course. This is a great opportunity to be a part of this amazing annual event and check out a fantastic historic site!
When: 4/26 (Sunday), 6am - 10am
Where: Fort Delaware State Park, Pea Patch Island
What: Assisting park staff in guiding runners along the 5K course.
Parking
- On-street parking is available on Clinton St. in front of the ticket office.
- Overflow parking is available in the public lot across the street from the ticket office, behind Dolly Spankers and the post office.

**Please note: Safety of volunteers, staff, and visitors is a top priority. To ensure this, we ask volunteers to complete a background check process if they meet specific criteria in their volunteer placement.
- Background investigations are completed at our expense, you will not be charged any fees.
- We do NOT collect any confidential information from you - you directly provide the information requested to our partnered system.
- Checks typically take anywhere from 2-5 business days to be completed and cleared.
