Thank you to Brandywine River Restoration Trust for organizing an Earth Day 2023 volunteer event for Delaware State Parks!
Every day is Earth Day in Delaware State Parks. The division places extra emphasis on the occasion this month, however — the holiday falls on April 22. This year, Earth Day caps National Volunteer Week, which is April 16-22. Delaware State Parks could not accomplish what we do without our volunteers.
The Brandywine River Restoration Trust, an advocacy group that organizes annual events like ShadFest and ShadRun, also arranges an annual litter cleanup along the banks of the Brandywine in Wilmington’s Brandywine Park. This year’s cleanup is in conjunction with the Delaware Nature Society’s Delaware Freshwater Wetlands Project and includes an informative session on one of the dams that sits within the park's boundaries.
