The Delaware State Parks Adopt-a-Trail Program was established to help individuals and groups become active environmental stewards of the various types of trails within Delaware State Parks. Trail adopters regularly monitor our trails, performing basic maintenance tasks on the trail and reporting larger concerns or issues for staff to address. Through monitoring efforts, our trail adopters help keep the trails clear and safe for all to enjoy.
Adopters visit their adopted section of trail a minimum of six times between March and October, during the growing season. Training on trimming and basic trail maintenance will be provided before you begin the program. Tools also provided. Training is required to participate in the program.
Please meet at the Brandywine Creek Nature Center located at 41 Adams Dam Road at the very top of the entrance road. Please bring gloves and any small cutting tools you may have. Extras will be provided.
Please wear long sleeves/pants and bring sunscreen, bug spray (if desired) and a water bottle. And please wear closed toe shoes.
Hope to see you at the training!
