The pollinator garden at Brandywine Creek State Park benefits native pollinators, including bees, butterflies, and more, and we need your help to keep it healthy and usable for our visitors!
Starting in May, volunteer gardeners like you will come together on every 2nd and 4th Saturday to learn about and care for these gardens. Tools and experience are welcome, but are not required.
On each Green Thumb Gardening outing, volunteers can expect to:
- Plant native vegetation
- Add soil and mulch where needed
- Remove weeds, invasive species, and dead plants from the gardens
- Learn about gardening basics, conservation, pollinators, and more.
Green Thumb Gardening typically meets for an hour twice a month at the Brandywine Creek State Park Nature Center. Interested volunteers can respond to one of the shift's on this opportunity to learn more about about upcoming projects.
