In addition to the meadows throughout our rolling hills, our pollinator garden is a crucial source of pollen for native pollinators, including bees, butterflies, and more! Brandywine Creek State Park is seeking Adopt-A-Garden volunteers who can help us care for the garden throughout the growing season.
Tools and experience are welcome, but not required. We will provide additional training as needed for our volunteers.
As an Adopt-A-Garden volunteer, you will:
- Weed your section of the pollinator garden regularly throughout the season.
- Assist with watering
- Monitor for damage due to insects and disease.
- Learn a little about pollinators and pollinator plants native to Delaware.
- Become a little more connected to your favorite park.
- Give back while enjoying the great outdoors.
Adopters will visit their assigned garden area at least twice a month during the growing season (April-October) to pull weeds, aid with watering, and keeping the garden in good health. Training on trimming and basic garden maintenance will be provided before you begin the program. Training is required to participate in the program.
