Volunteer: Brandywine Zoo Litter Getters!Become a Litter Getter with the Brandywine Zoo to protect our environment! This year, we've expanded our litter cleanups to monthly! At each Litter Getter cleanup, volunteers and zoo staff will collect and properly dispose of trash around the zoo, throughout Brandywine Park and along the streets of Wilmington. Litter has several negative impacts on the environment, including contributing to land and water toxicity, harming wildlife, and taking decades or centuries to break down, adding long-lasting microplastics to our natural environment. By joining us in cleaning up litter, you'll not only make your Delaware State Parks prettier, but also reduce these negative impacts! Tools and gloves are welcome, but not required! We will provide all tools, gloves and trash bags. Please wear closed-toed shoes and comfortable clothing that can get dirty. Volunteers are encouraged to bring sunscreen and a reusable bottle of water.
